5 reasons Mark watney is a leader
1. He used prior knowledge to help himself survive and an extremely tough situation , he use to be a botanist so he used that prior knowledge to grow crops and survive his time up there even if it was your typical growing of crops , this was on another planet. "They knew how to live with nature and get along with nature. They didn't try too hard to be all men and no animal. That's the mistake we made when Darwin showed up. We embraced him and Huxley and Freud, all smiles." He is speaking about how you need to get along with nature but you are not nature and that is the problem the team originally made.
2. He never panicked and kept a cool head he is in a very bad situation but he never gives up and continues to keep as positive of a mind as he can and often jokes just to keep himself with a positive mindset. "You're insane!""I won't argue that" here he is kind of joking about himself being insane because everyone thinks he is insane and he kind of knows it but that's what makes him such a heroic leader.
3. Break down the problem step by step he has a very big goal which is to get from the small air block all the way to the main one which is a very difficult task but before he can do that he needs to preserve his suit because he needed that air. "I have something to fight for and live for; that makes me a better killer. I've got what amounts to a religion now. It's learning how to breathe all over again. And how to lie in the sun getting a tan." He knows that getting home he is going to have to relearn how to do everything but he knows he has what it takes to break everything step by step.
4. He never gave up or had self pity he gets injured badly very early in the book and is in a very very tough situation but he never gave up and always was thinking of how to survive the next day and had an exceptional will to live that a lot of us wish we had but he had an exceptional amount of willpower and pushed himself day by day and never gave up and that's how he made it back to earth alive. "I'm numb and I'm tired. Too much has happened today. I feel as if I'd been out in a pounding rain for forty-eight hours without an umbrella or a coat. I'm soaked to the skin with emotion." As you can see he was starting to really feel the affects emotionally which are ten times worse then physical pain so you see him kind of break down but he overcomes it all.
5. He learns from his mistakes he makes many mistakes in the book a lot of miscalculations but he always finds a way to learn from them in the end. " I guess you could call it a failure but I call it a learning opportunity" as he says he does fail but instead of sitting around dwelling on the fact that he made a mistake he decided it's time to pull my pants up and keep going and not punish myself for the mistakes I made in the past. Or else I'm not gonna get out of here alive.

Gov
Is it right for parents to force there children to be sexualized and dressed up for people to judge , there have been children hooters contests when girls dress up like hooters girls which imo is sick 250,000 children participate and its growing every year
are these pageants making girls grow up to by wearing a ton of makeup , probably trying to be so thin to an unhealthy point? Is this good and is it making them grow up too soon
Is this also giving girls a false sense of beauty , girls who think they have to wear a ton of makeup and also a lot of these girls fall into drugs because they feel so much pressure
Are the mothers of these girls unstable?
Jonbenent Ramsey was a 6 yr old girl who competed in beauty pageants and her mother recently confessed to killing her the mother had had a history of mental illness and had forced her daughter to compete in these and I just want to know if you guys think mothers should have to take certain training or some interventions for making there daughters compete in these
Should there be an age limit on beauty pageants so little girls aren't getting judged by old men like do you think there should be an age limit? Maybe 18 or 21
